About STEMLaunch
STEMLaunch is an independent STEM careers education and media platform helping people discover careers, understand pathways into STEM and make more informed decisions about their future.
Why we exist
Information about STEM careers in the UK is scattered and written for people who already understand the system. Pay scales sit on one site, entry requirements on another, apprenticeship standards on a third, and much of what turns up in search is vague, out of date or aimed at recruiters rather than the person trying to decide what to do next.
We bring that together into one place: what the job is, what it takes to get in, what it pays, and where to go next, with the official sources cited so you can check for yourself.
Who it's for
Students choosing GCSE, A Level or T Level subjects; school leavers weighing an apprenticeship against university; undergraduates working out what their degree leads to; career changers moving into STEM; and the parents, teachers and careers advisers supporting them. Our focus is the UK.
What we publish
Career guides
Plain-English explainers on what STEM jobs actually involve day to day, the qualifications they need, how people get in and what they pay.
Pathways and entry routes
Apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, T Levels, university routes, placement years, graduate schemes and routes into STEM without a degree.
Salary information
UK pay researched from published scales and official sources, split by training, newly qualified and experienced levels rather than a single misleading average.
AI Career Advisor
A free conversational tool that suggests STEM careers worth researching based on your interests, subjects and situation.
How we work
STEMLaunch is a brand-led publication. Content is produced and published by the STEMLaunch Editorial Team and researched against primary sources, GOV.UK, the National Careers Service, NHS pay scales, UCAS, professional bodies, universities and employers' own careers pages. We use AI tools in our drafting workflow, and every article is reviewed and edited by the editorial team before publication.
We do not invent authors, experts, statistics or salary figures. Our full editorial standards explain how we research, source, update and correct our content.
How STEMLaunch is funded
STEMLaunch is free to read and funded through advertising, including Google AdSense, and through partnerships with organisations that want to reach early-career STEM audiences. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content, and anything paid for is labelled. Opportunities we list link out to the employer's or university's own site, we are not a recruiter and we take no fee from applicants.
Important limits
What we publish is careers education and information, not personalised careers guidance, and not financial, legal or medical advice. The AI Career Advisor produces suggestions to research further, not decisions to act on. Always confirm entry requirements, funding and pay with the official source before committing.
